What is Copdate?

 

            RSVP to Cop or Drop

 

Copdate allows retailers to send their subscribers push notifications when reservations for upcoming releases become available. The user will then have the opportunity to either ‘Cop’ or ‘Drop’ in order to reserve their place in the virtual line on release day.

Users that tap ‘Cop’ quickly enough will receive a reservation confirmation and instructions from the shop explaining how and when to pick up and purchase their sneakers.

Just be quick when the notification comes and you could be first in line on release day – no camping, no hassle!

 Please keep in mind that reservations are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis and are subject to availability at the time of the attempted reservation.

 Copdate is strictly a reservation system and does not handle the purchase transactions on behalf of the retailer, nor does it allow users to purchase products early or ahead of the product launch date. Copdate simply provides users the opportunity to secure their ‘place in line’ on release day, hassle-free.

 

 Copdate LISTS

 

Holding raffles for hyped releases is standard practice these days… however, entering them and managing the crowds can be a major headache for most Sneakerheads...  Copdate makes the process painless and seamless for both the shop and the customer.

Similarly to Copdate RSVPs, retailers can send notifications to their subscribers notifying them that a List is open. Users that wish to enter the List can do so with a couple of taps via Copdate on their device.

Copdate will send your entry directly to the shop along with the relevant info required to redeem the product if you win; such as your name, shoe size, and how to contact you… all this in a matter of a few taps on your device!

List Winners will be selected at the end of the event and will be contacted with instructions on how to pick up and purchase their pair on release day. No hassle, no headaches!

As with RSVP Events, Copdate acts solely as an intermediary providing the reservation platform and does not handle any purchase transaction on behalf of the retailer. Any products won via Copdate Lists must be picked up and purchased directly from the retailer as instructed.

 

 

How does it work?

 

1.       Create an account in the Copdate app, making sure to enable location services and push notifications for the app in your device settings.

 2.       Choose your city and subscribe to your favorite local shops.

 3.       You will receive notifications when reservations for upcoming releases from your subscribed stores become available. You can also check for upcoming releases in the app.

 4.       If you like what you see, hit the COP button! Remember to be quick since quantities are limited and reservations are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

 5.       If you’re quick enough, you will receive a reservation confirmation and instructions from the shop about release day procedures. Bring this reservation to the shop on release day with a valid ID matching your reservation to pick up and purchase your product.

 6.       Your account comes preloaded with courtesy credits. Credit(s) will be deducted from your account only if your reservation is successful. If you attempt to cop a reservation and miss out, or decide to DROP, credits will not be deducted.

 

  

What am I actually reserving?

Retailers can use Copdate to send their subscribers push notifications when reservations for upcoming releases become available. The user will then have the opportunity to either ‘Cop’ or ‘Drop’ in order to make a reservation for the product.

 

Reserve your sneaker ‘sans line’

Copdate places the lineup for hyped releases in the palm of your hand… All you have to do is act fast when the notification comes to secure your reservation and be ‘first in line’ to cop your pair without having to camp out.

When you receive the notification, just tap COP, select your size, and confirm. If you’re quick enough, you’ll receive a reservation confirmation within moments. But remember to act fast since quantities are limited and reservations are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis based on product availability.

 Successful users can then simply show up on release day at the specified time with their Copdate Reservation # and a valid ID, and walk right in to pick up and purchase your product. No need to camp out or line up! 

 Our goal at Copdate is to take the stress out of big release days and make the process of getting your pair as fair as possible for anyone using the app.

Please remember that Copdate does not handle any purchase transactions on behalf of the retailer, nor does it allow users to purchase products early or ahead of the launch date. Copdate is simply a reservation service that allows you to RSVP so that you can be first in line on release day to pick up and purchase your product hassle-free!

 

   

Why do I need to register?

 In order to have a chance at making a reservation using Copdate, you will have to sign up and create an account.

Successful reservations made using the app will be sent directly to the retailer so that you can pick up and purchase your product on release day hassle-free.

 Setting up your account accurately is important since most retailers will require a valid photo ID matching your reservation information in order to process the transaction.

 

  

Does it matter where I am located?

 Making reservations using Copdate is currently available only in certain cities.

 You can download the app from anywhere, however you must be located in the supported cities in order to make reservations using the app.

Can I reserve the same product from multiple stores?

Yes. You can subscribe to as many shops as are available in your selected city in order to receive their notifications. You will have the opportunity to make reservations from all of your subscribed shops while quantities last.

Please note that this does not mean that you can reserve multiple pairs from the same retailer. Most shops will limit the reservations of each release to one per customer. However if different shops are releasing the same product, you will be able to attempt a reservation from each individual shop (while quantities last).

 

Can I register for multiple cities?

 No; you can only have one active city per account. You can edit this later on in settings if you need to change it.

 

 

Are reservations only available for physical stores?

 Yes. For now, Copdate reservations are only available for in-store pickups at physical shops in your selected city.

 Our first goal is to help local Sneakerheads cop from their local shops hassle-free. But we will roll out new features in the near future, so keep following us for the latest updates!

What devices does it support?

 Copdate supports the following devices:

 iOS

-         iPod Touch

-         iPhone 5, 5C, 5s, 6, 6 Plus, 6s and 6s Plus

 Android

-         Smartphones using version 4.0.0 and higher

Do I need use a specific version of the app?

Yes. Please ensure that you have the latest version of Copdate installed on your device.

You can confirm this by visiting the App Store or Google Play to check if an update is available.

  

Do I need to enable push notifications?

Yes, we recommend enabling push notifications on your device.

Shops send their subscribers important time-sensitive announcements about reservations for upcoming launches via push notifications, so enabling them on your device gives you the best chance at receiving the announcements in a timely manner.

 As with any major release, demand is very high, and quantities are very limited. Making reservations using Copdate is on ‘first-come-first-serve basis’ and requires your quick action once the announcement is made.

Although you can still access launch information in the app without push notifications, enabling them will give you access to the launch announcements in real time, allowing you to respond faster and improving your chances of copping.

 

Do I need to enable location services?

Yes; making reservations with Copdate is currently only available in certain cities and your location is used to determine whether you are eligible for a particular launch.

If location services are not enabled, the app will not be able to determine your eligibility and the reservation system will not be accessible on your device.

   

Can I have multiple accounts to increase my chances of getting the shoe?

 No, you can only have one account.

 You will need to verify your account, and it can only be active on one device at a time.

 Also, most shops will require a valid ID matching the reservation information in order to process the purchase transaction on release day. Attempting to use multiple accounts may result in any reservations being cancelled and the associated accounts closed.

 

Does the use of the app guarantee me a pair of shoes?

No; as with any major sneaker release, the demand is very high, quantities are very limited, and reservations are processed on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis.

 Copdate gives you the opportunity of copping a pair hassle-free and as fairly as possible, provided you are able to act quickly enough once you receive the notification.

 If you have a confirmed reservation using Copdate, bring it to the shop on release day along with valid ID in order to pick up and purchase your pair hassle-free.

 

How will I find out about when I can reserve the shoes?

The fastest and easiest way to find out about upcoming reservations is by subscribing to shops and enabling push notifications on your device.

Shops send their subscribers important time-sensitive announcements about reservations for upcoming launches via push notifications.  Once you receive the notification, you will have the option to ‘Cop’ or ‘Drop’. Remember to act fast as quantities are very limited and reservations are allocated on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis based on stock availability.

What are the steps to making the reservation?

 1.       Create and verify your account

2.       Subscribe your favorite shops and enable push notifications on your device

3.       When you receive a notification, you will have the option to ‘Cop’ or ‘Drop’. If you would like to cop, remember to act quickly as demand is high, quantities are limited, and reservations are allocated on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis based on availability*.

4.       If the product you would like to Cop is still available at the time of your attempted reservation, you will receive a reservation number and instructions from the retailer on launch day procedures, including how and when to pick up and purchase your product.

5.       Bring your reservation number and valid ID to the shop on release day to pick up and purchase your pair hassle-free!**

 * Selecting ‘Cop’ does not guarantee that your reservation attempt will be successful. Reservations are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis based on availability. Only users who receive a reservation number will have a confirmed reservation to purchase the product from the specified retailer on release day hassle-free.

** Copdate does not handle any purchase transactions for products reserved using our service and is not responsible for the fulfillment by the participating retailer.

 

 I was able to make a reservation, where do I pick up my shoes?

 Once you have received your reservation confirmation, it will contain detailed information provided by the retailer about launch-day procedures. 

 In most cases, you will be asked to show up at the specified location by a certain time on release day, making sure to bring your reservation confirmation and a valid ID.

 Please make sure to consult the rules provided by the retailer beforehand to ensure that things go smoothly on release-day. Retailers may cancel reservations at their discretion if launch-day procedures are not followed.

  

How long will I have to pick up my reservation?

 Each retailer establishes its own rules for individual releases, so we encourage you to consult them in detail before heading there on release-day to ensure things go smoothly.

 In most cases, you will be required to show up at the specified location by a certain time on release day, making sure to bring your reservation confirmation and a valid ID matching the reservation.

If you are unable to pick up your shoes at the time specified by the shop, your reservation may be canceled.

Please make sure to read all the rules closely as retailers may cancel reservations at their discretion if launch-day procedures are not followed.

 

What happens if I can't pick up my reservation? Can someone else do it?

 Each retailer establishes its own rules and may have different policies regarding pickups for individual releases, so you are encouraged to consult the rules in detail before heading there on release-day to ensure things go smoothly.

However, in most cases, reservations are not transferable and you will be required to show up at the specified location on release day with your reservation confirmation and a valid ID matching the reservation.

If you are unable to pick up your shoes at the time specified by the shop, your reservation may be canceled.

Please make sure to read all the rules closely as retailers may cancel reservations at their discretion if launch-day procedures are not followed.

  

Does waiting in line outside the store give me a better chance of getting the shoes?

Copdate places the lineup in the palm of your hand, giving everyone using the app an equal opportunity at securing their pair hassle-free and as fairly as possible.

However, individual shops may not allocate their entire stock of a specific release to Copdate, so it is possible that some pairs remain available through other channels. 

The point of Copdate is to replace the lineup and to make copping hot releases as fair as possible for true Sneakerheads.

We are working hard to join forces with retailers in every city to make Copdate the new standard in handling sneaker releases worldwide.

 

When and how do I pay for the product?

You must pick up and purchase your pair directly from the specified retailer on the day of release as instructed in the rules set by the shop.

Please remember that Copdate is strictly a reservation service and does not handle any purchase transactions for products reserved using our service, and we are not responsible for the fulfillment of reservations by the participating retailer.

 

 When do reservations open and how are we notified?

What are credits and how do they work?

1.       Your account comes preloaded with complimentary credits. J

2.       Credits will be deducted from your account for each successful reservation. Meaning credits will be deducted only if your reservation is successful. If you try to Cop and miss out, or decide to DROP, credits will NOT be deducted.

3.       Your account must contain at least one (1) credit in order to receive the notifications and use the reservation service.

4.       If you run out of credits, you can reload or request additional credits here

 

Is Copdate responsible for the retail transaction?

No; Copdate is strictly a reservation service. You must pick up and purchase your product directly from the specified retailer on launch day as instructed in the rules set by the shop.

Copdate does not handle the purchase transactions for products reserved using our service and is not responsible for fulfillment of reservations by the participating retailer.

The shop didn’t have my product or didn’t honor my reservation. What do I do?

We are really sorry to hear that!...

 Firstly, please ensure that your reservation was valid and that you followed the launch-day rules set by the retailer.

The retailer may cancel reservations at their sole discretion if their release-day procedures for pickup / purchase are not respected or if any Terms of Use are violated.

 Checklist:

1.       Did you have a confirmed reservation for the specified product?

2.       Did you show a valid ID matching the reservation?

3.       Did you show up on time at the correct location on the specified release-day?

4.       Did you follow all the rules & procedures set by the retailer?

 If you answered yes to all of these questions, please contact our customer support with a detailed description of the events and we will do our best to assist you.

What is the difference between a rsvp notification and a list notification?

Retailers may send you two types of notifications using Copdate:

 1.       rsvp – Cop or Drop on the spot!

 Shops send their subscribers important time-sensitive announcements via push notifications when reservations open for upcoming releases.  Once you receive the notification you will have the option to ‘Cop’ or ‘Drop’.

Remember to act fast if you want to cop, as quantities are very limited and reservations are allocated on a ‘first-come-first-serve’ basis based on availability at the time of the attempted reservation.

 Successful users will receive a reservation confirmation on the spot with instructions from the shop explaining how to pick up & purchase their pair on release day.

Please keep in mind that quantities are limited and demand is very high, so we cannot guarantee that your reservation attempt will be successful each time. Our goal is to make the experience as fair, easy, and secure as possible!

 

 2.       lists - enter for a chance to cop hassle-free!

 Some shops may opt to create a List Event for certain releases. In those cases, you will receive a List notification on your device when the List opens for entries. If you receive a List notification, you will have the option to enter with a couple of simple taps or you can simply dismiss the notification.

In a List event, the winners will be randomly selected from the qualifying entries at the end of the event and will be contacted with  instructions on how to purchase their product. As with RSVP Events, quantities are very limited and entering a List does not guarantee that your entry will be selected for purchase.

In both cases, Copdate takes the stress out of big release days and makes the process of copping as fair and as easy as possible for everyone using the app!
